About Dr. David A. Cain
Dr. Cain has an interesting family history in dentistry that dates to 1898 and covers four generations. His great-grandfather, grandfather and father were all dentists. Two of his brothers are orthodontists and a third is professor of maxillofacial prosthodontics.
Dr. Cain himself has a long and broad background in dentistry. After earning his B.S. Summa Cum Laud from Jacksonville University in 1981, and receiving his DDS from Case Western Reserve University in 1985, he completed a General Practice Residency at Oklahoma Teaching Hospitals. He then served three years in the United States Navy Dental Corp. His second residency was in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at Case Western Reserve, where he restored implants and completed complex full-mouth rehabilitations. He became a post-doctoral teaching fellow and staff member at University Hospitals in Cleveland, treating medically compromised patients. After a brief return to the U.S. Navy at the NATO Hospital in Naples, Italy, Dr. Cain completed his orthodontic residency, earning his MSD in 1994.
Dr. Cain is married to Dr. Janet Cain, a developmental psychologist and nationally competitive marathon runner. For fun Dr. Cain likes backpacking, sailing and gardening.
